    Welcome to Angel Flight Central

"We are simply about helping ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances."
AFC Founder and Chairman Emeritus, James H. Stevens, Jr.
Angel Flight Central (AFC) is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to removing the burdens of arranging long-distance transportation at times of personal and community crisis. Today, AFC volunteers and supporters throughout the Midwest have made possible over 10,000 flights "free of charge" covering 5 million miles. We are helping thousands of families access specialized health care, special needs camps, and other destinations for disaster response efforts and compassionate reasons. Angel Flight "gives hope wings" everyday!

What is the geographic area served by Angel Flight Central?

Initially serving the Greater Kansas City area, Angel Flight Central expanded its franchise area in February 2000 coordinating missions to, from and through a 10-state region — Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. As a regional member organization of Angel Flight America, AFC has access to nationwide destinations for its passengers.

Welcome to the Empty Nose Syndrome (ENS) Self-Help website.

This site was founded by ENS sufferers in 2005, and it is a leading source of information about ENS on the Internet.  The primary goal of this website is to act as a center of information for ENS sufferers in the hope that this information empowers them to cope better with this problem.

ENS, we believe, is one of the most misunderstood, devastating, iatrogenic problems in American medicine today.  As a leading Internet source, our site enjoys more than 300 unique visitors per day and hundreds of forum members.  We encourage all ENS sufferers to register on the patient list to provide us with current, relevant data. We hope this site helps to shed light on this silent, preventable problem.  Among other features, this site includes:

    1)      A thorough description of what ENS is, which includes a list of symptoms, many sceintific references and current suggested ways of coping.

    2)      Tutorials about the nasal turbinates, nose and respiratory system.

    3)      A forum where ENS' leading medical authority Dr. Steven Houser of Cleveland, Ohio , answers patient questions and where ENS sufferers support each other and discuss treatments.

    4)      Revealing testimonials.

    5)      A half-hour audiotape by Dr. Eugene Kern, who coined the term “empty nose syndrome.”

We warmly welcome and encourage your involvement; your grass-root efforts on behalf of ENS are strongly encouraged.

Thank you for taking interest in our website. We hope you find the information you need and wish you happy browsing and good nasal health.

Chris Martin's Personal ENS testimonial and message to the ENT community:

    Part-1 (10 minutes long)

    Part-2 (1.5 minutes long)

Having Nasal Surgery? Don't You Become An Empty Nose Victim! is now available online through Amazon.com and Coldtreepress.com

This book provides a testimonial, scientifically discusses ENS, critiques nasal surgeries, sheds light on its clinical politics, and offers practical treatment ideas.  It brings a much needed personal touch to a serious medical condition that has been ignored by the medical community.
